Charlotte Constantine BDS (Ncl)

Hi, I’m Charlotte.

After growing up in the south of England, I decided to do my dental degree in Newcastle and in 2000 I graduated with merit.  I have been working in the North East ever since.

I have worked in general practice since I started dentistry and my path has now led to Belmont, to run my own practice. Here is where I plan to stay, creating the kind of environment that is both fun to work in and upholds that high standards that is expected of a modern dental practice.

I enjoy all aspects of dentistry, as it allows me to employ my natural need to fix things. But the most rewarding thing about the job, is the smile on peoples faces when you improve the appearance of their teeth, or when you fix things that they have previously been told is unfixable!

Over the last few years, I have been increasingly involved in more advanced cosmetic dentistry.

I look forward to meeting you all and helping you achieve the smile of your dreams!

This is what my colleagues think of me!

  • Very approachable and supportive to patients and staff
  • As well as fixing teeth we see Charlotte as a DIY specialist!

Catherine Jarvis BDS (Ncl)

Hi, my name is Catherine.

Having qualified from Newcastle dental school in 2002 I have enjoyed being a dentist and I feel very fortunate to have picked a career where I can really help people and build up lasting relationships with so many people.

I recently completed an advanced restorative course to be more involved with more complex crown and bridgework.
We are always striving to increase our knowledge and improve our skills. This is both a personal mission, and a requirement from our professional governing body. We feel that being fully up to date with current practices and equipment is an essential part of modern dentistry.

When I am not busy being a dentist I like to keep fit with lots of country walks and I am also developing a passion for Zumba!!

This is what my colleagues think of me!

  • Has a good sense of humour, especially for a dentist!
  • Always cheerful and smiling, and a good advert for “pearly whites!”

Angela Cowell (Ncl) MFDS (RCS)

Hello, I’m Angela.

I am one of the dentists in the team here at Belmont.
As well as having worked in private practice I have a lot of experience of oral surgery and sedation and place all the dental implants at Belmont.

I am studying towards a Diploma in Implant Dentistry which has taken me as far away as Germany to learn from experts in this field.
I enjoy seeing all my patients regularly and working with such a great team of professionals.

It’s not all work! I make time to keep fit and have completed the Great North Run several times now. I also sing in a choir and might give you a song when I meet you! Along with others in the practice I am a cat lover!

This is what my colleagues think of me!

  • Angela is caring, optimistic and organized – she’ll be keeping us all on our toes!
  • As well as being a great dentist she is a lovely person too.

Our Hygienists

The skills of a hygienist have increased over the years and today’s hygienist can offer many new state of the art treatments such as full mouth disinfection and application of antimicrobials and air polishing.

Our hygienists work with our patients in order for them to achieve a high standard of oral health.

Vicky Parker

Hello, I’m Vicky

I am the Dental Hygienist here at Belmont. I qualified as a dental nurse in nurse in 2002 at Glasgow Dental hospital and then went on to graduate as a Dental Hygienist at Newcastle University in 2007.

I am a keen traveller and have been lucky enough to travel far and wide.

My most recent trip took me to Africa, Fiji, New Zealand and Australia. Next time you are in the dental chair, look up and see the world map and you can plan your own big adventure.

Our Dental Nurses

Our dental nurses work along-side our dentists assisting in the care of patients from dental health checks to advanced and complex treatments.

It is an important responsibility of our dental nurses to put patients at ease and help them feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit.

Caroline and Tina are also qualified Oral Health Educators and can  provide advice to patients to help them to improve their overall oral health.

Caroline Rodwell

Hello, I’m Caroline.

I have now been a dental nurse for 100 years and I love working with the general public. I think it is a challenging career, but very rewarding.
I particularly like being involved with cosmetic dentistry because it changes peoples lives and gives them great confidence.

As well as dental nursing, I also enjoyed a brief spell working as a community care worker, helping people rehabilitate after hospitalisation, which I found  extremely rewarding. It’s always a great feeling to know that you have helped someone.
I have recently gained my Oral Health Education certificate. This means that I have a more direct involvement with educating patients and promoting good habits, which in turn will improve oral health.  I am also qualified to assist during sedation procedures.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and taking long walks with my dog. I also enjoy going to the gym and Zumba!

This is what my colleagues think of me!

  • Caroline is the most cheerful dental nurse I have ever worked with and nothing is too much trouble.
  • She is a great listener for both staff and patients. And people are always singing her praises.

Carley Smith

Hi, I’m Carley,

I’ve been a dental nurse for 4 years now and I love it.  Every day is a new buzz and always a challenge. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

I am the proud mother of 2 amazing children, who keep me on my toes at home.

This is what my colleagues think of me!

  • Carley has a great positive attitude to everything she touches her hand to.  If she keeps it up, then she will soon have me meditating.
  • She’s certainly a whirlwind. I am not sure how she manages to get so much done in one day!

Emma Ingleby

Hello, I’m Emma

I joined the girls at Belmont in July 2013 having spent the previous six years working in a private dental practice in Bishop Auckland.
I qualified as a dental nurse in June 2005 and enjoy all aspects of dental nursing. I live locally and am walking to work each day, part of my new regime. It’s been nice in the summer but I’ll let you know how I get on in the cold winter months!

This is what my colleagues think of me!

  • Emma is very organised and is a fan of making lists.
  • Emma has settled into Belmont brilliantly, we need to just remember not to put things on the top shelf!

Tina Partridge

Howdy, I’m Tina!!!

I joined  Belmont Dental Practice in January 2016 and settled in straight away.  I love dental nursing and the staff and patients at Belmont have been so welcoming to me.  I  gained my dental sedation qualifications (sept 2014) and look forward to being able to use my skills at Belmont.
I have worked in practice providing minor oral surgery – I do enjoy this but I  keep getting booted out of the way by the dentist!

I started off working as a veterinary nurse but I found the patients were all barking mad. Boom boom!!

This is what my colleagues think of me!

  • Tina puts a smile on your face – her enthusiasm is contagious!
  • We have to be careful not to get roped into her swimming and cycling regime – watch this space!

Our Receptionists

Dental receptionists work at the ‘front line’ of our dental practice, as the first point of contact for our patients either over the phone or on arrival.

Our dental receptionist undertakes many tasks, including booking in new patients, greeting visitors, sorting out appointments and undertaking other non-clinical tasks of an administrative nature.

Julie Sanyang

Hello, I’m Julie

I have been a dental nurse for 35 years, but the last 6 years I have been running our reception. I love working with the public and find that my dental knowledge assists me greatly in my current role. I have recently completed a customer service and business administration qualification.

I lived and worked in The Gambia for 8 years and I ran a project with my husband to build a clinic and water well in a remote village. We held lots of fund raising events which enabled us to open a medical centre for those who have no other access to any medical support.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my two grandsons, who keep me young and on my toes.

This is what my colleagues think of me!

  • No slacking on Julie’s watch, she keeps us all busy!
  • Very organised and goes through a lot of post-it notes!

  • "Angela was excellent. She kept me continually informed of what she was doing.  Her thoroughness, coupled with her careful informative approach is to be highly recommended, as was the end result."

    Paul D,

  • "I am delighted with my implants which were fitted three years ago. The procedure itself was pain-free (something I particularly liked). I was told what to expect at each stage of the operation.  Angela, my dentist has a calming, positive manner which which is appreciated.

Getting implants was one of my better decisions. They are rock solid and blend in very well with my other teeth. They have given me my smile back. "

    Helen Forsyth,

  • I have to say how I am so very impressed with service you have provided to us both... ...I find Julie in reception is always very helpful and always try and works round my work commitments.

    Louise and Jack, Durham,

  • My smile has been restored, my confidence lifted to new heights. My teeth are fab-u-lous. Thankyou so much.

    A. Blair,

  • Not enough 'Thanking' words can describe the massive, perfect dental work I had, with a flexible schedule, in order to accomplish a wonderful result. The way all staff followed up on my progress from what can be described as a major work to the smallest detail, in order to have healthy teeth. I can say Thank you and God Bless your positive attitude.

    Majed Badghaish,

  • “I have climbed Everest – a real challenge for me. Going to the dentist, an even bigger one for me – but this practice is absolutely fabulous and a real pleasure to have treatment and build up confidence!”

    J. Sandlands,

  • "On the occasion I needed to use the out of hours service, I found it to be excellent. I was able to see my own dentist, on a Sunday afternoon and had brilliant treatment."

    Mr David Clement,

  • "Just had Zoom whitening treatment, so pleased with the results, and the two hour treatment was completely stress free, due to the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, created by everyone who works there."

    Mrs Susan Quinn,

  • "I am truly delighted by the improved appearance of my teeth. It was easier and the result so much better than I even imagined."

    Mrs Jackie Sharp,

  • "Throughout my many visits to the Belmont Practice, I have noticed how efficient, friendly and professional everyone, whom I have been in contact with, has been. You and your colleagues all work in harmony to produce an amazing standard of service."

    Mr Warren,
